… to the Restaurant Rendez-Vous website that has been designed to allow students from all five schools in the partnership to communicate with their friends following a Comenius Project visit. Enjoy it!
Everybody is excited: The ambassdors of the five schools will meet soon in Finland. From 28th of February to 6th of March they will work together on different topics like “Cuisine in Art” and “The Great Depression”. But there will be time enough to enjoy the north of Europe during a trip to Lapland where they will visit a reindeer farm for instance.
In a couple of days we will tell you about our second COMENIUS RENDEZ-VOUS!
The German ambassadors have already been excited before leaving to Finland.
Part of the Lifelong Learning Program, Comenius seeks to develop knowledge and understanding among young people and educational staff of the diversity of European cultures, languages and values. It helps young people to acquire the basic life skills and competences necessary for their personal development, for future employment and for active citizens
Johann Amos Comenius (1592-1670) was a Czech teacher, educator, writer and bishop. He became known as the “teacher of nations” and is often noted as the father of modern education. Born on March 28th, 1592, orphaned early, educated at the universities of Herborn and Heidelberg, Comenius began working as a pastor and parochial school principal in 1618, when the Thirty Years war began.
“Restaurant RENDEZ-VOUS” is a meeting of minds and a series of meetings between students and their teachers intending to explore and celebrate the diversity of each partners' cultural identity accessed via food. Why do our daily diets vary in each country? How has history, agriculture and trade shaped our feeding habits and to what extent does globalization of the food markets support or threaten traditional dishes?
